Try having two brothers racing against each other. The younger doing well, and the older trying his best to keep his happy face on. My grade for the pinewood derby is who's car looks the coolest, and since the older brother's car looked cooler, it was okay that the younger brother's car was faster. Live and learn!! And make sure your rules are clearly posted before the derby...it saves a lot of headaches later.Staceyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10676169256879109030noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1636030950981895232.post-21426005792742849742011-05-07T17:05:05.827-07:002011-05-07T17:05:05.827-07:00only thing I can say is: graphite.

Thank goodness most of that stuff goes over the boys heads. Ryan's car is a beautiful thing. He has class and style. <br />I remember wishing there was a derby for girls when I was that age.Peggyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11299800675343073395noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1636030950981895232.post-47127776595793156982011-04-14T12:00:00.484-07:002011-04-14T12:00:00.484-07:00Wahoo Marisa! Second, you need to do a better job of choosing what you'll be in charge of; a derby, referring adults at a kids event and/or the possible desire to crack adult heads lol. Pinewood Derbies should not have adults allowed in the audience, until after the race has been run. There's something about the derbies that tends to bring out the inner "idiot factor." I believe I can speak from experince. Ty built his car. Bill helped a boy with an absent father.I was disappointed that Ty's car came in behind the 1st place car (the one Bill helped build). I didn't make a public display, but I remember being miffed at Bill afterwards. Yes, I can be an idiot.A.Jeanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06921587490968906950noreply@blogger.com
